The CIES Football Observatory has produced a comprehensive and exhaustive report on the value of the most outstanding U21 players in the world. The ranking is headed by Jude Bellingham (19) followed by Spain's Pedri (20) and Gavi (18).

Borussia Dortmund's England midfielder Bellingham, who is wanted by Real Madrid and Liverpool, has an estimated value of 211.3 million euros according to the document, which analyses a host of variables such as accumulated experience at club and international level, age, current contract, minutes played between December 13th 2021 and the same date in 2022, competitive level, results achieved and a range of other technical and tactical parameters.

The report identifies 200 players - the top 10 in 20 categories - who were born after January 1st 2002 and have gained sufficient professional experience in the last calendar year. The model is calculated on the basis of statistics developed exclusively by CIES researchers.

Each player is finally attributed a transfer value, although it is not always the best-valued players who are the most expensive.

After all, Bellingham, as we pointed out, is the number one among the 200 players studied. Second place goes to Barcelona's Pedri, who is worth 169.8 million euros. The podium is completed by his teammate for both club and country Gavi, who is valued at 159.8 million euros.
