Karim Benzema (34) left the France squad just before the start of the World Cup due to an injury. Spanish media confirm that the striker is now 100% recovered and could feature for his country in the final in Qatar if Les Bleus.

Mundo Deportivo is the outlet making the claim, stating that Benzema is fully recovered from his injury and is fit to play for France.

Fresh off winning this year's Ballon d'Or, Benzema had ruled himself out of France's World Cup matches just a day before the tournament kicked off.

The medical staff of Les Bleus confirmed at that time that the striker suffered an injury to the quadriceps of his left thigh which required "a three-week convalescence period".

Benzema could play in the final

France manager Didier Deschamps chose not to call up any other player in Benzema's place, which means he can return to help his team at the World Cup at any time.

"Benzema resumed training with Real Madrid starting Saturday, and at the training session yesterday (Tuesday) he appeared smiling in very good form", reports the daily Mundo Deportivo.

Moreover, according to Iberian daily Marca, the striker has been fit to play since France qualified for the round of 16, but Deschamps opted not to use him.

Real Madrid allow Benzema to go to Qatar

Real Madrid officials have allowed Benzema to travel to Qatar.

He could be used in the final against Argentina. It's hard to believe, however, that Deschamps will use him as a starter, given that he is coming off an injury and Olivier Giroud is in a formidable run of form at the World Cup.

Most likely, if Benzema arrives in Qatar, he could be introduced towards the end if the scoreline allows it.
