The EuroBasket quarter-finals have been confirmed after day two of the play-offs came to a close in Berlin. There were early wins for Poland and Finland before Italy knocked out the much-fancied Serbians and Greece saw off the Czech Republic to round off a busy day of knockout basketball.

Ukraine - Poland 86-94

Ukraine bowed out of EuroBasket with defeat at the hands of neighbours Poland in Berlin. AJ Slaughter was the pick of the Polish team with 24 points as Mateusz Ponitka followed close behind, scoring 22 points.

Poland led by three points after the first quarter and despite Ukraine fighting back in the second to take the lead, Poland pulled away to book their place in the final eight.

Finland - Croatia 94-86

Lauri Markkanen played the best game of his international career to lead Finland to a 94-86 victory over Croatia. Markkanen, who is on the Utah Jazz roster, scored an incredible 43 points, which has only been bettered in this tournament - and in European Championship history - by Luka Doncic with his tally of 47 points against France in the group stages. He also scored nine rebounds and assisted another three attempts.

Croatia couldn't live with the big Finn, but Markkanen's Jazz teammate Bojan Bogdanovic did score 23 points of his own, however it is Finland who go on to the next round.

Serbia - Italy 86-94

In a major bout of 'Groundhog Day' in Berlin, Italy beat one of the pre-tournament favourites, Serbia, by the same scoreline as the two previous games on Sunday.

As expected Nikola Jokic led the scoring charts for Serbia with 32 points with a staggering 13 rebounds, but there was little support from his team, with the next best scorer, Vasilije Micic netting just 16 points.

Italy were behind by eight points after the first quarter, but clawed their way back, outscoring Serbia in the remaining periods to take the win.

Greece - Czech Republic 94-88

In the tightest contest of the day, Giannis Antetokounmpo was limited to 27 points by Czech Republic, but still managed to top score for Greece as they won by six points.

The Milawaukee Bucks star was guarded well throughout in this topsy-turvy encounter with the scores tied at 20-20 after the first quarter.

The Czechs took a four-point lead into the half, but repeated fouls cost them in the end as Greece showed their style to win 94-88.

Greece face off against Germany on Tuesday, whilst Spain play Finland in the first of the four quarter final ties.
