It was an open secret that Gerard Piqué (35) would play his last game at Camp Nou as a starter. Xavi (42) had condemned him to retire, but gave him the opportunity to play his last game for Barca as a starting player. The run-up to the game was a huge tribute.

He must have played in dozens of finals, won 30 titles, been World and European champion, lifted the Champions League... all of this must have gone through Gerard Piqué's mind when he came on to warm up for the last time at the Camp Nou.

Although he's used to many battles, it must have been hard for him to concentrate when he was given a standing ovation by his fans, who had gathered to see him off in the stands for the match against Almeria

There were many exciting moments in the run-up to the game. One of them, being able to go out with his sons, Milan and Sasha, even accompanying him in the official team photo.

Another, seeing his teammates, several of his childhood friends, such as Busquets and Jordi Alba, taking to the pitch wearing his shirt, the one with number 3 on the back with his name on it.

And then, of course, already in the match, in the first moments, even Almeria seemed to want to do their bit by allowing him a little round in defence so that, every time he touched the ball, he received applause from the Barcelona fans.
