Luis Enrique's (52) controversial broadcasts on Twitch during Spain's stay at the World Cup in Qatar are now showing their nice side. The subscriptions obtained during these live broadcasts brought in profits that the former coach has donated in full to the Enriqueta Villavecchia Private Foundation for Children's Oncology, as promised.

If there was one thing Luis Enrique was criticised for during the World Cup in Qatar at the end of last year, it was for showing his irreverent side on Twitch. He was accused of not being fully focused on his work by going live on the platform and it was used to attack him after the elimination.

Just over three months after the Spanish national team was knocked out of the World Cup by Morocco, it has been shown that this extracurricular activity made perfect sense. The proceeds from the subscriptions have been donated in their entirety to a foundation that fights against childhood cancer.

Specifically, the Asturian coach raised a total of 23,995.83 dollars (around 22,000 euros) - with the 50% that the social network keeps already deducted. Far from being satisfied with that figure, he has decided to round it up to a total of 30,000 euros that have gone directly to the Enriqueta Villavecchia Children's Oncology Foundation.

This was announced in a statement on Twitter: "Hello everyone, As I informed you at the time, all the income from the stream sessions we did during the Qatar 2022 World Cup will go to the Enriqueta Villavecchia Foundation. When you start your stream channel on Twitch you sign a standard contract with the platform (in our case 50% for them and 50% for me). I leave you the certificate of the donation that corresponds to that 50%. Thank you very much for your generosity and support. Cheers," he said in his statement.

The donation, according to the certificate provided, was made on 23 February. Luis Enrique lost his 9-year-old daughter Xana to cancer while he was still a national team coach. Since then, he has been completely committed to the cause.
