Seth Jarvis (21) clinched his first career hat trick during Carolina's four-goal burst in the third period, and the Hurricanes beat the Montreal Canadiens 6-2 on Thursday in Raleigh, N.C.

Sebastian Aho broke a tie 2:05 into the third period, and then Jarvis and Jordan Staal followed with goals across the next three minutes. Jarvis' third goal of the game came with 19.8 seconds remaining.

Jesperi Kotkaniemi had Carolina's first goal, and the Hurricanes won their second in a row and ninth in their past 10 games. Andrei Svechnikov had three assists and Brent Burns supplied two for the Hurricanes. Antti Raanta made 20 saves.

Michael Pezzetta and Rafael Harvey-Pinard scored for the Canadiens, who had a three-game winning streak snapped as they began a four-game road swing. Sam Montembeault stopped 35 shots.

Golden Knights 2, Sharks 1

William Carrier scored with 18 seconds remaining to give Vegas a win over San Jose in Las Vegas.

It was the seventh game-winning goal of the season for Carrier. Paul Cotter also scored for the Golden Knights, who improved to 20-2-4 all-time against the Sharks despite going 0-for-7 on the power play. Adin Hill made 25 saves for Pacific Division-leading Vegas, which extended its winning streak to four games.

Alexander Barabanov scored for San Jose, which lost for the third time in four games. Kaapo Kahkonen finished with 36 saves.

Blues 4, Devils 2

Brayden Schenn and Jordan Kyrou each had a goal and an assist as St. Louis defeated visiting New Jersey.

Pavel Buchnevich and Alexey Toropchenko also scored for the Blues, who won their third straight game since the All-Star break. Robert Thomas earned two assists, and Jordan Binnington made 34 saves in his 200th career start.

Dawson Mercer and Erik Haula scored and Mackenzie Blackwood made 31 saves for the Devils, who suffered just their second regulation loss in 15 games.

Red Wings 5, Flames 2

Dominik Kubalik scored twice while Tyler Bertuzzi tallied once in a three-point game as Detroit beat host Calgary for its season-best fifth consecutive win.

Robby Fabbri collected one goal and one assist and Pius Suter also scored for the Red Wings. Dylan Larkin collected three assists and Magnus Hellberg made 33 saves -- 15 of them in the third period. Detroit's streak started with a home victory over the Flames on Feb. 9.

Elias Lindholm and Dillon Dube tallied for Calgary, which has just one win in its last five games (1-3-1). Dan Vladar stopped 19 shots.

Blue Jackets 3, Jets 1

Kent Johnson broke a tie midway through the third period and Columbus rallied to beat visiting Winnipeg.

Johnson put the Blue Jackets ahead 2-1 at 9:40 of the third, with a no-look shot from the right circle through traffic. Patrik Laine had a goal and an assist while Joonas Korpisalo made 35 saves for Columbus, which won for just the second time in its past seven games.

Kyle Connor scored for the Jets, who had their three-game winning streak snapped. David Rittich made 21 saves.

Bruins 5, Predators 0

Five different players scored and Jeremy Swayman pitched a 28-save shutout to lead Boston to a dominant win at Nashville.

Patrice Bergeron broke his personal six-game point drought with a goal and an assist, while Nick Foligno and Hampus Lindholm each dished out two assists to help Boston secure its second straight win.

Brad Marchand, Craig Smith, Derek Forbort and Trent Frederic also scored for the Bruins. Juuse Saros made 25 saves for the Predators, who have dropped back-to-back games and three of their past four contests.

Panthers 6, Capitals 3

Marc Staal, Colin White and Aleksander Barkov each had a second-period goal as visiting Florida beat Washington.

Gustav Forsling opened the scoring and Carter Verhaeghe recorded two assists for the Panthers, who have won five of seven. Anton Lundell (two assists) and Sam Reinhart added empty-netters.

Nicklas Backstrom, Evgeny Kuznetsov and Dylan Strome scored for the Capitals, who have dropped three straight -- all at home -- amid a 6-10-0 rut.

Kraken 6, Flyers 2

Yanni Gourde scored two goals and added an assist as Seattle defeated visiting Philadelphia.

Jared McCann, Justin Schultz, Oliver Bjorkstrand and Matty Beniers also scored for the Kraken, who extended their points streak to three games (2-0-1). Philipp Grubauer made 17 saves.

Travis Konecny scored twice off assists from Noah Cates for the Flyers, who took their second consecutive defeat. Goalie Carter Hart was pulled in the second period after allowing four goals on 19 shots. Samuel Ersson entered and stopped nine of the 11 shots he faced.
