World number 11 John Higgins (47) reached the last 16 of the Snooker World Championships after beating David Grace (37) 10-3 at the Crucible, while Gary Wilson (37) also advanced.

John Higgins 10-3 David Grace

Higgins reached the last 16 in fairly comfortable fashion, beating Grace by seven frames. The Scot raced into a 3-0 lead but his opponent was allowed to work his way back into the tie on a couple of occasions - but Higgins' quality shone through in the end.

He will face either Kyren Wilson (31) or Ryan Day (43).

Gary Wilson 10-8 Elliot Slessor

Wilson's affair was much tighter, almost blowing a 7-1 lead before eventually making his way into the next round. Slessor (28) brought the score back to 7-4 and then to 9-8 but unfortunately didn't have enough to complete a remarkable comeback.

Either Mark Selby (39) or Matthew Selt (38) await Wilson in the final 16.
