A number of players across the world began the penultimate month of 2024 in style. Once again, we've used our internal rating system to pick out a best XI from the weekend's action.

Here's our latest Team of the Week:

Goalkeeper

Koen Casteels (Al Qadisiya) 8.0

Our goalkeeper of the weekend was Belgium's Koen Casteels, who played a big part in Al Qadisiya's 2-0 win over Al Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia.

The former Wolfsburg player kept out all five of the shots on target that he faced with some excellent saves to help his team pick up their third win in a row.

Defence

Nicolo Savona (Juventus) 8.5

21-year-old defender Nicolo Savono has broken into the Juventus first-team this season and showed why with his performance in their 2-0 win away to Udinese.

Being given plenty of license to get forward from right-back, he created a number of chances and gave his side a 2-0 lead with a clinical finish from the edge of the box.

Noah Sonko Sundberg (Sivasspor) 8.6

Gambian centre-back Noah Sonko Sundberg channelled his inner striker against Rizespor, bagging his first two goals for Sivasspor to take them up to sixth in the Turkish league.

The first one was a stunner too with the 28-year-old firing an unstoppable free-kick into the top corner before heading in his second just over 10 minutes later.

Juan Miranda (Bologna) 8.9

It hasn't been the best start to the season for Bologna but new signing Juan Miranda has been one of the few positives as he showed against Lecce.

The left-back created his side's late winner with a perfect cross from the left and could have easily had more assists, making six key passes and 108 in total.

Midfield

Alassane Ndao (Konyaspor) 9.7

Our second-highest-rated player of the weekend, Alassane Ndao scored all three of Konyaspor's goals in their thrilling 3-2 win over Basaksehir.

The winger bagged the first hat-trick of his career with one goal with his left foot and two with his right, all of which were far from easy chances to convert.

Dani Olmo (Barcelona) 9.6

Coming back from injury, Dani Olmo returned to Barcelona's starting XI in style in their hard-fought 3-1 win over local rivals Espanyol.

The Spaniard turned in a cross from Lamine Yamal to open the scoring in the 12th minute and made it 3-0 on the half-an-hour mark with a lovely strike from just outside the box.

Riqui Puig (LA Galaxy) 8.9

Joining Olmo in the centre of our midfield is compatriot and former La Masia teammate Riqui Puig, who is enjoying an unbelievable campaign in America.

He scored two stoppage-time goals to secure LA Galaxy's progression in the MLS playoffs and made 134 passes in total, dictating the game. He now has 17 goals and 10 assists in the league this season.

Vito van Crooij (NEC Nijmegen) 9.5

After a season in Saudi Arabia, Vito van Crooij returned to the Netherlands in the summer and is enjoying playing on home turf again as was evident at the weekend.

The Dutchman set up two goals with two pinpoint balls across the box before scoring himself with a close-range header as his team stormed to a 6-0 victory that moved them up to 10th in the Eredivisie.

Attack

Ademola Lookman (Atalanta) 8.9

Ademola Lookman is simply unstoppable at the moment, with the Nigerian forward the star of the show in Atalanta's hugely impressive 3-0 win away to Serie A leaders Napoli.

He opened the scoring with a cool finish before making it 2-0 with one of the goals of the weekend, finding the bottom right corner from well outside the box. With three key passes too, he was comfortably the best player on the pitch.

Viktor Gyokeres (Sporting) 10

Our only perfect 10 of the weekend went to Sporting's star striker Viktor Gyokeres, and it's not hard to see why.

The Swedish sensation put four goals past Estrela in a display of absolutely lethal finishing to move on to 16 goals in 10 league games this season. Right now, there are very few better strikers in the game.

Omar Marmoush (Frankfurt) 9.3

Frankfurt were one of the standout teams of the weekend, beating Bochum 7-2, and their standout player was Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush.

The 25-year-old wreaked havoc on the Bochum backline, setting up the opening goal before making it 2-0 and assisting his side's sixth too. He now has 10 goals and six assists in nine league games this season.
